Microblading Pre-Care Instructions

What You Need to Know Before Brow Microblading

  • Do not take aspirin or other blood thinners at least 7 days prior to the procedure to prevent bleeding. Non-aspirin pain relievers may be taken up to one hour prior to the procedure. **NOTE** Do not discontinue any medications that are prescribed by a physician or which are necessary for your health. If you cannot discontinue use of these medications, you will need a note from your doctor to receive the procedure. Please see the full list of blood thinners to ensure the safety of your procedure
  • If you are pregnant/nursing, we are unable to provide your service.
  • Avoid alcohol 24 hours prior to the procedure to prevent bleeding.
  • If you have a condition that requires you to take antibiotics before a dental visit, you must check with your doctor to determine if antibiotics are needed for permanent cosmetics.
  • If you are worried about your appearance, do not make social plans fo the day of your procedure.
  • Hair removal may be done prior to your procedure (ex. Tweezing, waxing, etc.). Permanent hair removal and electrolysis should not be done five days before or after the procedure.
  • Please inform your technician if you receive Botox or injections in the forehead and/or brow area.
  • Skin treatments such as chemical peel, laser peel, Retin-A that thin the skin in the procedure area must be discontinued for at least 30 days prior to the procedure. Check with your dermatologist about specific medications.
  • Accutane users must be off Accutane for at least one year prior to procedure.
  • Delicate or sensitive skin may be red and or swollen after the procedure
  • Although numbing cream is used during the procedure, slight sensitivity/discomfort can still be felt by sensitive clients and those who are resistant to lidocaine
  • Procedures cannot be performed over fresh sunburns, including those caused by tanning beds. You must wait until the burn heals.


Topical anesthetic
Allergic reaction can occur form anesthetics used during this procedure. We use a 5% lidocaine that is safe and FDA approved. A reaction can present as redness, swelling, rash, blistering, dryness or other possible symptoms. Numbing: We want this to be a pleasant experience for you. Steps are taken to taken to make you as comfortably numb as possible. Depending on individual skin and level of pain tolerance, some clients report the area to be completely numb, while other may experience some discomfort. *Upon request, a patch test may be performed prior to the permanent cosmetic service. It is possible that an individual may develop an allergy to a product over time.
